However, higher heat output means that you can use up your propane tank more quickly, which can translate to higher usage costs.
This unit has a built-in gas flow control, so you can use a high or low flame setting. Therefore, you can opt for bigger flames with high heat or smaller flames to save money. In either case, you get ambiance.
Here is an average usage rate for a 50,000 BTU gas fire pit using a 20 lb propane tank:

Can You Use Fire Glass with the Key Largo Table?
Some people want to use fire glass instead of the included lava rock. The answer is yes, you can. That said, I have a tip for you.
Tip: You can use fire glass over lava rock instead of replacing the lava entirely. This way, you can save money by buying less fire glass, yet you can achieve the same visual effect. This video explains how to do it and the end result.
The manufacturer also recommends combining lava rock with fire glass because the lower density lava rock provides better air circulation. All you need is about 10-15 lbs of fire glass.
